Legends of Amberland III version 1.10

Version 1.10 released

So, the first after release version is out! It introduces a feature which I haven’t managed to finish for v1.00, an option to start with a smaller party size (for now as experimental feature, you need to enable it via Options/Gameplay/More/Enable Experimental Features then Custom difficulty will appear under New Game). It allows you to play with fewer party members (the rules are adjusted a bit to make it somewhat even). There is a traditional rebalance (easier made easier also less experience required to level up across all difficulty levels), a nice feature for people who play with gamepad (auto deactivate/activate mouse cursor) and smaller changes, fixes, etc.

– [feature] Experimental feature (enable Experimental features in Options/Gameplay first): Added Custom difficulty which allows to play with a smaller party size (5/3/1 heroes). The game adjusts the combat rules/difficulty depending on number of party members (with fewer heroes you get less experience required to level up, extra actions in combat, extra HPs in solo mode).

– [misc] Start with central character selected.
– [misc] Autofill Party option now tries to make the same party as Quick Start option.
– [misc] Improved manual.

– [balance] Reduced experience required to level up (to allow reaching level 50 on most difficulty levels without Monster Respawn enabled). Note: if affects existing saves (you might find you can level up after you load your older save).
– [balance] Reduced monsters HP and Damage on Easy difficulty.

– [interface] Improved Magic screen (bigger fonts on lower resolutions, especially useful for Steam Deck).
– [interface] Clue tooltip adjusted to make it more clear that some quests might require fewer clues.
– [interface] Mouse cursor is automatically deactivated when gamepad is used, when mouse is used then it reactivates.

– [fix] Many small spelling fixes and small NPC dialogue improvements.
– [fix] Other small fixes.

Reminders
You can follow my Steam Developer Page if you wish to be notified each time a new game or expansions is being released.

Also, if you have a moment to leave a Steam review of the game it would be appreciated. It makes a big difference to an indie developer like me. Thanks!

Legends of Amberland III: The Crimson Tower has been released on PC!

Legends of Amberland III released on Steam & GOG

Today, on 2nd March 2026, the third part of the Amberland series has been released on PC.

Legends of Amberland III: The Crimson Tower is a classic RPG made out of my nostalgia for the 90s era of RPGs. It’s a turn-based, first-person view, over-the-grid movement, party-based RPG where you lead a group of heroes on an epic quest without dealing with moral dilemmas and other nonsense. There are dragons to kill, treasures to be found, people to be rescued, and an evil behind the events in Amberland that you must deal with, of course, as the noble heroes who undertake such quests.

At release, the game is available in English only, but very soon it will be localized to German, French, and Polish. Later, even more languages are planned to be added.

The consoles port (Nintendo Switch) is planned, but I can not give any estimate when.

The game has a full gamepad support (and Steam Deck support) at release.

Technical note: the exact time of the release on each online store might differ a bit (but not much).

Note that during the first 3 months or so after release there might be balance changes if needed. But overall, the saves will be compatible regardless of changes and adjustments.

I want to express my gratitude to all my long and short-term contractors who contributed assets, music and more. Thank you!

I would also like to thank all the testers, feedback bringers, and others who provided support in one way or another – without you, it would be much, much harder for me to make the game, and it would not have reached the quality it has today. Thanks!

So, the third part of the series is out. This concludes the trilogy. I don’t know if there will be another trilogy set in Amberland, who knows, maybe one day. As for me, I consider it complete, and I don’t have any immediate plans for future instalments. Maybe I would release the editor or some sort of Amberland Miniadventures, who knows, but I don’t plan a full blown game, at least at the moment. As usual, I implore you to leave a review if you liked the game. Reviews matter a lot to a niche game like Amberland!

Thank you for your support. See ya and have fun!
