You Have Been Appointed Governor of Planet Antares

By an imperial order, you have been appointed Governor of planet Antares. Your primary task is to ensure regular shipments of the planet’s local fungus extract to the Empire. Your secondary objective is to expand and defend the colony to secure a permanent imperial foothold in this region of space.

Long live the Empire!

Planetary Report

Governor, here is a planetary report compiled by the Imperial Bureau of Maps and Space Anomalies.

Antares is a swamp-jungle planet located in the distant Scorpius sector. Its native flora and fauna exhibit unusual biological properties and are suspected to be the result of ancient bioengineering by a long-extinct alien race.

Of particular interest is a rare fungus with extraordinary properties. Your primary mission is to harvest, refine, and ship Mycel Extract to the Empire on a regular basis.

WARNING! Lifeforms on the planet are classified as extremely dangerous.

Political Situation (Classified)

Sir, as your trusted assistant, I feel obliged to share information that is unavailable through official channels.

The Emperor’s health is deteriorating. Rumors suggest that factions within the Imperial Court may be plotting to assassinate him and install a regent in his place. Should these rumors prove true, the Empire could face a civil war.

This is a very dangerous situation, you might be dragged into the intrigues of the Imperial Court despite being posted in such a remote location.

Also, the Emperor’s grip on the Court appears to be weakening. Corruption is spreading unchecked, and even the outright bribery of imperial courtiers has become a viable option for those seeking influence.

In these uncertain times, Governor, you would be wise to evaluate your position carefully. The Empire’s future may be decided far from its capital, and Antares may prove more strategically important than anyone realizes.
